I told y’all the other day that I was changing some things up on the blog. This is one of them. It’s my newest idea for a series, not that I came up with “Friday Favorites” but rather the actual favorites that I’ll be sharing. Before I explain this series let me explain a little bit about why I want to do this one. First, if you were a follower of Chosen the Blog, then you probably remember my Thankful Thursday series. It seemed to last forever, but it was always good to sit down on Thursday (or Wednesday night after choir) and reflect on the week and what I was thankful for. It was a good reminder to me that there is always something to be thankful for.
So, Friday Favorites? That doesn’t really sound the same! I know! But here are the things that I’ll have in each post: 1. My favorite product that I use each week (baby products, clothing, accessories, kitchen gadgets, etc.) 2. One of (because there will be zillions) my favorite things that Sparrow did that week. 3. Something that brought me joy each week…this one will be much like a Thankful Thursday post each week no matter how bad it might seem I can find something to be joyful about. 4. My favorite verse(s) from the week. 5. I know this one seems weird, but I really love Instagram and looking at everyones beautiful pictures. So, I am going to follow one new account each week and then share it with you.
Product Spotlight: My favorite product that I started using this week is Aveeno Calming Comfort Bath It is the best! It has helped with her sensitive skin and it smells soooooo good! I had been using The Honest Company products, and I do love them, but with her sensitive skin, I had to try the Aveeno and I love it!
Weekly Dose of Sparrow: This week I have two favorite things that kind of go together. I made a DIY Baby Wrap this week because she wiggles her way out of the other two we were given (I think when she gets bigger the other two will work perfectly…but she’s tiny and wiggly right now). I took it to church Wednesday night and to Target yesterday afternoon. I loved carrying her in it! She was just snuggled up right next to me the whole time we were out and about. Yesterday while we were shopping she was just cooing the whole time and I was singing to her. I know there were lots of people in the store, but it was like we were in our own little world. I loved every second of it! She was so sweet!
Joy Comes in the Morning: This week I think the thing that brought me the most joy was feeding her at night and being up just in awe of how God has blessed us. This is an extremely hard season to go through in terms of physical and emotional changes and hardships. BUT it is one of true joy. Joy that I can’t even explain in any form or fashion. I just don’t have words for the joy God has given me through Caleb and now Sparrow.
What’s the Word?:
Listen to counsel and accept discipline, That you may be wise the rest of your days. Proverbs 19:20
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:2-5
I love these because they are a reminder to not only humble myself and lay down what I consider my “rights” at His feet and allow room for discipline in my life, because I struggle with that. I am kind of a know-it-all sometimes. When I obviously don’t know it all! And then I like the second one because in the midst of discipline and LEARNING more and more about wisdom, He says that He will give it to us who ask without reproach and generously! So…there’s that.
Insta Lovin’: I think the first time I saw this account I liked 50 of their pictures shamelessly and didn’t care that they might think I’m a total creeper…LOOK AT THESE DRESSES! My dad used to travel when we were kids and he always brought us home a surprise. A lot of times it would be the soaps and shampoos from the hotel. As a kid I thought it was awesome! I had no idea that you get those in your hotel room. I thought my dad had some sort of super power that allowed him to know where the store was that sold baby tiny shampoos. Ha! I loved it though. This one time though, he brought home dresses that look sooooooo much like the ones below. My sister and I loved them! I literally thought they were our princess dresses. When my dad referred to God as the king when I was little I asked him if that made us princesses and ever since then, I thought I was a princess…I’m mean I’m not delusional now, but I really thought that as a kid. Looking back those were some good memories twirling around in those dresses on the hardwood floor in the “big room” (our house was an old church so we called what used to be the sanctuary the “big room”) and pretending we were princess. All that to say that I think you should check out their Instagram, if for no other reason than, it’s just adorable.
